OUR ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION PROCESS
Consultation and Scope
Prior to visiting the site, we typically meet with the client to better understand the state of the contaminated site. As your contaminated land consultant, we assist in responding to the environmental authority, and create a general project plan.
To inform the project plan, any available information about the site’s condition is gathered.
This first step is brief and is generally completed within a couple of weeks.
Contaminated land site assessment
Following consultation, we commence environmental site assessment. We visit the site and conduct an in-depth land survey, where detailed information is gathered about the site’s history, geology, and hydrogeology.
We harness leading environmental and laboratory solutions for contaminated land remediation. Typically, a contaminated land site assessment includes sampling soils, soil vapour and/or groundwater, as well as aerial surveyance and 3D mapping.
Our environmental treatment solutions will identify data gaps in the available information. Then, we can determine where work needs to occur.
These assessments can take from one day (e.g. single fuel tank spill) to weeks or months (e.g. multiple sources of contaminants).
Risk Assessment (If Required)
One of the environmental waste solutions we offer is site-specific risk assessment. This is a well-defined process of characterising risks to people and the environment.
The assessment provides a means to develop a set of clean-up criteria that are often less restrictive than generic standards. This reduces the cost of remedial works while providing an adequate level of protection to humans and the planet.
Risk assessments often take a few weeks to complete.
Remedial Action Plan (If Required)
In some instances, the environmental solutions group prepares a remedial action plan.
Once assessments are completed, a remedial action plan will be prepared. This includes details on conditions and types/levels of contaminants at the site, how the contaminants will be remediated, and a timeline/milestone plan for progress assessment.
As it is primarily a synthesis of gathered information, the preparation of a remedial action plan takes less than a week.
Site Works
The pre-work is done, now the “real work” can begin. Our civil earthworks solutions aim to simplify the site works program.
